Answer Key

1. D. The Florida Association for Media in Education (FAME) was created in 1972 when the Florida Association of School Librarians, the Florida Audiovisual Association, and the Florida Association of Educational Television voted to merge into one association.
2. C. Librarians are charged with ensuring the benefits of intellectual freedom, and must be prepared by developing related policy, responding to censorship challenges, dealing with pressure groups, and promoting access to appropriate materials. Independent thought is always welcomed and should be nurtured.
3. B. Resources available on this site are for exclusive use by Florida residents. Use of a Florida public library card provides reasonable assurance to the database providers that the user is a Florida resident.
4. A. Policies are almost always documented, such as in a policy manual, whereas procedures may very well be verbal practices based on a preferred routine or process.
5. B. The missing factor is not whether it is for educational use only but rather the effect of the use upon the potential market. Denying a copyright owner the potential to make money or reducing or eliminating the ability to tap into a new or expanded market can result in a lawsuit, even if the information is not competing with the original work or is for "educational purposes" only.
